        In a system, hydraulic directional valves, also known as pre-actuators, have the function of monitoring the direction of the fluid in the system. In essence, a spool valve has at least 2 positions. Depending on the position, selected manually, hydraulically, electrically or mechanically, the directional valve directs the force of the hydraulic fluid towards the components responsible for the desired action. This is achieved by operating a spool, which can be moved sideways to the left or right to connect ports.
