        Regardless of its type, a hydraulic pump is a mechanical element that moves a fluid within a circuit. They all operate on a simple physical principle, creating a partial vacuum when they are primed by activating their moving part. The fluid to be moved is then drawn towards the pump inlet by the vacuum effect. The fluid is then pressurised by this same moving element and released into the entire circuit.
        Hydraulic gear pumps are particularly reliable, and are widely used in industrial mechanical engineering and the automotive sector. They can be coupled to a motor by means of a drive shaft and gearbox, or set in motion by a small electric motor. They provide constant pressure to circuits of up to two hundred and fifty bars.
