Whatever its type, a hydraulic pump is a mechanical component that moves a liquid within a circuit. They all operate according to a basic physical law, the creation of a partial vacuum on priming by activating their moving element. The fluid to be moved is drawn into the pump inlet by the vacuum effect. The fluid is then pressurised by this same moving element and released into the entire circuit.
Hydraulic gear pumps are particularly reliable, and are widely used in industrial mechanics and the automotive sector. They can be connected to a motor by means of a transmission shaft and gearbox, or set in motion by a small electric motor. They can be used to permanently pressurise circuits at pressures of up to 250 bar.
