In a system, hydraulic directional valves, also known as pre-actuators, control the direction of the fluid in the system. By definition, a directional valve has at least 2 positions. Depending on the position, selected manually, electrically, mechanically or hydraulically, the directional valve directs the power of the hydraulic fluid towards the desired action. This action is triggered by operating a spool, which can be moved to the right or left to allow ports to communicate.
